Recent Guest Comments: February 2007 We recently had the opportunity to stay at Harbour Village resort on Bonaire. We wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for the experience. We found the accommodations to be clean, comfortable, and very relaxing. The services and amenities were excellent, and appropriately priced. While we had a few meals at other facilities outside the complex, the comfort, diversity, and preparation of the meals we had at the restaurant in the resort continued to have us dining in the facility. We would like to thank your entire staff for a great vacation in a great resort, in a truly wonderful place….Thanks again to all. We have found a new place to vacation, and will be back soon. TripAdvisor Traveler Review Not only was Harbour Village superb and far exceeded our expectations, the island of Bonaire is one not to be forgotten. If we could move there tomorrow we would. From the moment we arrived the employees catered to our needs 150%. Our beachfront villa was superb. We traveled with another couple and the 2 bedroom was plenty big enough so we did not feel on top of one another. The beach is wonderfully relaxing! I am not sure if this place is ever crowded but they kept telling us we were there during high season and it felt pretty empty to me. This only added to how relaxing the place is. The snorkeling off shore is great but a trip to Klein Bonaire in a kayak or a motor boat is well worth the trip. You can snorkel all around the island and moor your boat in predetermined mooring spots. The restaurant at Harbour Village is good and worth going to at least once during your stay….We found everyone to be so helpful in directing us to the best of everything. I can't say enough about this island. There is such a warm and relaxing feeling there. If you want to get away from tourism, experience awesome snorkeling/diving and enjoy great food and warm friendly people take your next vacation to Bonaire. Trip Advisor Rating:
Bonaire: Harbour Village Beach Club: "High End Bonaire" I agree with the previous posting, this is the most luxurious spot on the island (and you do pay for it). The beachfront suite was huge with all the amenities and services anyone could ask. The restaurant was good but go out to the other spots on the island for even better (Richard's, Mona Lisa, Cappricio's, and Donna & Giorgio's were great - a real surprise). Most important to us was the sandy beach and the great snorkeling right offshore. While small it is the best on the island. We aren't divers but are avid snorkelers and the island lived up to it's reputation. We went to some 9 other spots (rent a car, it is well worth it) where access ranged from easy to tough. The snorkeling was superb. Just driving around was fascinating, from the salt flats to the incredibly rugged state park. It is little wonder that most the people we met were return visitors, and for the beach alone, Harbour Village will be our choice. Trip Advisor Rating:

Bonaire Dive Into Summer 2007 This summer everyone is invited to experience the Caribbean’s top rated dive destination with Bonaire’s new summer-long promotion, Bonaire Dive Into Summer 2007. Taking place June 3 – September 29, 2007 this island-wide event will focus on scuba diving through a series of specialty topics: Family, Fotography, Fish and Fun! The “Family” topic will introduce guests to the many activities and programs available on-island for the entire family to enjoy and the “Fhotography” topic will include guest speakers and events designed for professionals and those interested in photography to enjoy, while the “Fish” topic will be all about marine conservation and our ocean planet and the “Fun” topic will feature everything diving such as speakers encouraging divers to take new courses and non-divers to become certified. During September, solo travelers and singles traveling in groups can take advantage of dives, snorkels and events just for singles. Each month people will also have the opportunity to enjoy A Taste of Bonaire, an event showcasing local food, handicrafts, culture and music. Why not plan your stay during these exciting months and take advantage of the Harbour Village Beach Club specials at the same time! New Relations in the Kingdom of the Netherlands The Netherlands Antilles will be disbanded on December 15, 2008, otherwise known as “Kingdom Day”. What does this mean for Bonaire? Bonaire will become a direct part of the Netherlands as a special municipality, a form of “public body” along with Saba and St. Eustatius. These municipalities will resemble ordinary Dutch municipalities in most ways (they will have a mayor, aldermen and a municipal council, for example) and will have to introduce most Dutch law. Residents of these three islands will also be able to vote in Dutch national and European elections. What does this mean for travelers to Bonaire? It will have relatively no affect on travelers, Bonaire will still remain an undiscovered paradise and divers haven. |
